A&N Islands Shops and Establishments Rules, 2005, as amended in 2026
- Who the Regulation applies to
- Shops and establishments employing 20 or more persons, or that employed that many on any day of the preceding twelve months. Below twenty it does not apply — though the OSH Code does, from tenSection 1A, inserted by the (Amendment) Regulation, 2025
- Opening hours
- Shops and establishments may operate 24x7, subject to the weekly rest, the 48-hour week and the conditions the rules attachRule 8, as substituted in 2026
- The Administrator's power to fix hours
- Section 11 of the Regulation still lets the Administrator fix opening and closing hours by notification, for different establishments, classes, areas or times of the year. No such notification was foundSection 11 of the Regulation
