Minimum wages

State, zone, skill — shops vs industrial.

One statewide rate for each grade; the notification sets no zones.

Daily rates for 1 July to 31 December 2026. This order covers 1 July to 31 December 2026. The territory revises every six months and has issued each recent revision before the period it governs — 5 December 2025 for 1 January 2026, and 29 June 2026 for 1 July 2026 — so a reader standing near the end of December should expect the next order to be out already rather than to arrive late. That is the department's own record, from the orders it publishes.

These rates apply from 1 July 2026 to 31 December 2026.

SkillStatewide
unskilled₹660.00 / day
Semi-skilled₹741.00 / day
skilled₹864.00 / day
Highly skilled₹947.00 / day

The same notification also says

  • The order publishes a daily rate only. It sets no monthly figure and gives no rule for working one out, so none is shown.
  • There are no zones. The rates run across the whole Union territory.
  • The rates rest on the average All India Consumer Price Index for October 2025 to March 2026.
  • The order's own category names are wider than the four grade labels used here, and the mapping matters: “Semi-Skilled/Unskilled Supervisory” is the semi-skilled row, so unskilled supervisory staff take it; “Skilled/Clerical” is the skilled row, so clerical staff take that one.
  • Every grade rose by ₹8 a day against the order of 5 December 2025, which set ₹652, ₹733, ₹856 and ₹939.
  • This is the first order on the desk made under the Code on Wages, 2019 — section 7 read with section 2(w). The order recites that the Minimum Wages Act, 1948 was subsumed into the Code with effect from 21 November 2025.
  • It declares the rates “across all Employments of the Union Territory of A & N Islands, in addition to Govt. Departments/ Offices/ Industrial Establishments”. Its predecessor of 5 December 2025 said “across Six Schedules of Employments”, so coverage widened with the move to the Code — which is why this page carries no caveat about whether shops are reached.
  • The order's typed date reads 29th July 2026 with July struck through and June written in by hand. The digital signature on its second page — 29-06-2026 — settles it as 29 June 2026.
  • The terms and conditions of Notification No. 133/2023/F of 27.12.2023 continue to apply. That notification is not on the department's site and could not be obtained.
