Jharkhand minimum wages: three areas, two cadences that do not reconcile, and one rate its own two texts disagree on
Notification No. 2/M.W.-2071/2010 (Part-3), L&T-742 of 25 May 2026 revises wages under section 6(1) of the Code on Wages, 2019 — not the Minimum Wages Act — issued in pursuance of section 69(2) and continuing under section 7(2) until a further order. The index for July to December 2025 averages 147.5, which converts to 425 against a baseline of 386, a rise of 39 points or 10.10 per cent, applied as ten per cent. Area A is the Ranchi, Chas, Dhanbad, Deoghar and Hazaribagh corporations with the Jamshedpur notified area, Mango, Jugsalai and Adityapur; Area B is every other urban local body; Area C is the rest of the State. Daily rates run ₹515, ₹540, ₹712 and ₹821 in Area A. The notification publishes a monthly table as well, and the two do not reconcile by twenty-six — ₹515 a day is ₹13,385 a month where 515 times 26 is 13,390 — because the allowance is rounded to whole numbers separately at each cadence. The notification names no scheduled employments at all, varying only by area and skill. Its Hindi and English texts disagree on Area C's unskilled daily rate, which is ₹468 in one and ₹467 in the other: ten per cent of 425 is 42.5, and each text rounds the half the other way. That is the most-used wage in the State, and both readings are published.
