The Labour Commissioner publishes the registration fees under the 1962 Act. What the Act now requires — who must register, and by when — is a separate question, and one this desk cannot answer.

- Not yet addedThe Uttar Pradesh Dookan Aur Vanijya Adhishthan Adhiniyam, 1962 is the State law that would answer this. No consolidated text of it is published on any government site reachable from here, and the only text that is — the Uttar Pradesh Dookan Aur Vanijya Adhishthan (Sanshodhan) Ordinance, 2025, on the Labour Commissioner's own site — is an amending Ordinance promulgated on 19 November 2025 under Article 213. An Ordinance lapses six weeks after the legislature reassembles unless it is replaced by an Act, no such Act appears in the Labour Commissioner's listing, and whether it is still in force could not be established. Nothing is shown here rather than something whose legal force is unknown.
- What the 2025 Ordinance would do
- Not yet addedIf in force, it would exclude shops and commercial establishments employing fewer than twenty employees from the Act altogether, and require an owner with twenty or more to register on the departmental web portal within six months of commencing business. It is not relied on here. Worth noting against it: the fee table above, which the department publishes now, still runs in bands from one employee.
