West Bengal Act XI of 2023

What it says

Raises the supervisor exclusion in section 2(3)(b) from ₹1,600 to ₹10,000 a month, omits the second proviso to section 2(5)(iii), substitutes section 9(6) so that the employer pays both contributions electronically through the Board's designated portal and bears the cost of remitting, and raises the penalties in section 21 to ₹25,000 for a first offence and ₹50,000 afterwards, replacing imprisonment with a fine. Section 1(2) makes it come into force on a date the State Government appoints by notification in the Official Gazette, and no such notification has been found.
