Madhya Pradesh minimum wages: ₹12,425 a month unskilled to 30 September 2026
The Labour Commissioner's notification 6445-6650 of 31.03.2026 sets the rates including variable dearness allowance for 1 April to 30 September 2026. Statewide, four grades: ₹12,425 unskilled, ₹13,421 semi-skilled, ₹15,144 skilled and ₹16,769 highly skilled a month, each a basic rate plus a flat allowance of ₹2,850, with daily rates of ₹478, ₹516, ₹582 and ₹645 after the State's own rounding rule. The six-monthly average consumer price index for July to December 2025 was 425, eleven points above the 414 used before. The same notification carries separate rates for slate-pencil works, printing presses, agriculture, government daily-wagers, bidi and agarbatti, and for three employments added under a High Court order.

Madhya Pradesh profession tax runs on the year's salary, not the month's
The Madhya Pradesh Vritti Kar (Sanshodhan) Adhiniyam, 2018 (Act No. 20 of 2018) substituted the Schedule to the 1995 Act with effect from 1 April 2018. For people in employment the bands are on annual salary or wages: nil up to ₹2,25,000; ₹1,500 a year to ₹3,00,000; ₹2,000 a year to ₹4,00,000; and ₹2,500 a year above that. The yearly amount is collected unevenly — ₹166 a month for eleven months and ₹174 in the twelfth at the ₹2,000 band, and ₹208 then ₹212 at the ₹2,500 band. Where someone is not in employment for the whole year the liability is reduced proportionately.

Madhya Pradesh LWF: ₹10 employee, ₹50 employer, and a ₹2,500 floor
Under section 9(2)(3) of the Madhya Pradesh Shram Kalyan Nidhi Adhiniyam, 1982 the Labour Welfare Board collects ₹10 from each employee and ₹50 from the employer for each worker every half-year — and the employer pays at least ₹2,500 a half-year whatever the headcount, a floor that binds below fifty workers. Madhya Pradesh Act No. 20 of 2014 exempts any establishment or industrial entity classified as a Micro Industry under the MSME Development Act, 2006, with power to withdraw that exemption in workers' interests, and allows registers to be kept in digital form.
