Appointment letter
Compulsory on day one.
OSH Code s.6(1)(f): every employer of a covered establishment must issue a letter of appointment on the day of joining. No letter is itself an offence, and it is the worker’s first proof of employment.
- Must carry
- Name, designation, wages, nature of work, social-security IDs, establishment registration.
- When
- Day one — not after probation, not after the first month.
- Form
- Prescribed form under the OSH rules. Keep a signed copy in the register.
