One gazette, nineteen notifications, and the braces that decide who gets what

Everything here comes from The Gazette of Puducherry, Part I Extraordinary, No. 125 of Friday 20 September 2024 (29 Bhadra 1946), pages 693 to 746 — G.O. Ms. Nos. 09 to 27 of AIL/Lab./G/2024, all dated 2 September 2024, each made by the Lieutenant-Governor under clause (b) of sub-section (1) of section 3 read with sub-section (2) of section 5 and sub-section (1) of section 13 of the Minimum Wages Act, 1948 (Central Act 11 of 1948) and signed by Yasam Lakshmi Narayana Reddy, Additional Secretary to Government (Labour). The serials run 09 to 27 without a gap, which is how this desk knows the set is complete. The schedules do not fix a rate against each row: they draw a curly brace joining a run of rows to one figure. The PDF's text layer places that figure beside whichever row happens to align with the brace's CENTRE — read that way, the Shops schedule appears to give ₹11,695 to rows 3 to 8. The page image shows the brace spanning rows 1 to 5, with rows 6 to 13 on ₹11,283. All fifty-four pages were read as images at 300 dots per inch, and every group boundary is pinned by test. Seven of the nineteen also print the reverse rule, that the monthly rate is the daily rate multiplied by 30 — which does not invert the divide-by-26 rule they print alongside it. Taxies and Autorickshaws prints the reverse rule as multiply by 26 instead. All are published as printed and none is applied to another employment's figures.
