The same notification also says

• The monthly rate is thirty times the daily rate throughout the notification, and the notification prints both.
• Made after a Minimum Wages Advisory Committee, constituted by Notification No. Shram (A) 4-2/2018-P-II dated 24 April 2023, met on 4 April 2025 and approved an increase across all nineteen scheduled employments.
• The notification carries the endorsement that it is the authoritative English text required by clause (3) of article 348 of the Constitution. The Hindi text printed after it is a translation, and introduces no figure the English does not carry.
• Five employments — shops, hotels and restaurants, hospitals, domestic workers, and temples and dharamshalas — fix a second, lower rate where food and accommodation are provided. That column is a reduction against the ordinary rate, and it is shown beside it rather than instead of it.
• There is no distinction between the minimum wages of male or female, or adult or non-adult, for the same and similar nature of work.
• Where work is done on a piece work basis, the wages are not to be less than the time rate prescribed for that category. Two employments also fix piece rates outright — stone dressing in construction, and leaf plucking on tea plantations.
• Where a category of worker is not named in a scheduled employment, it is not to be paid less than the rate fixed for the similar category having the same skill.
• Wages of apprentices are regulated under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961.
• Agriculture fixes one rate and no grades at all. Domestic workers have no highly skilled grade. Engineering and construction each add a fifth clerical category. The part-time booking clerk in public motor transport is fixed at ₹295 a day, below the floor every other full-time category observes.
